Lessons & Coaching

Riding Lessons & Coaching

Qualified EA Level 1 Coach. Confidence building and skills training are the focus. I Specialise in women returning to riding, young riders figuring out first-time horse ownership, as well as riders working towards entering their first competitions & beyond.

I have a broad knowledge-base & personally compete in eventing & jumping. Friendly & welcoming, I enjoy answering your questions and helping you develop your horsemanship.

Come attend one of my popular jumping or XC clinics, bring your horse for a private lesson or shared lesson.

Our facilities offer you a wide range of lesson options, with a covered indoor arena, all-weather outdoor arena, covered round yard, show jumps, field riding for cross country training and acres of trail riding.

The focus for you and your horse may include one, or a combination of:
  • fundamentals for a novice/beginner rider (any age)
  • re-establishing after returning to riding from time off (read 'mum getting back into horses again!'), recovering from injury etc
  • learning how to train your young or inexperienced horse
  • working towards getting out competing

To set you up to be as successful as possible, I start with the core elements that provide the foundation for any successful horse and rider and work up. In the saddle, I coach you in your areas of interest, including:
  • basic flat work
  • dressage schooling
  • pole work
  • jump training
  • cross country

However there is a lot more to horses than riding, and over the course of our time together, you will also learn about the fundamentals of:
  • ground handling
  • horse management
  • diet/feed regime
  • ideal bitting
  • correct saddle fit
  • general tack/equipment to use, specific to your horse,
  • competition preparation
  • and more!
The name of the game is to help you to go out and achieve what you set out to do. Your own personal goals are the focus of your regular lessons - be it working towards feeling confident enough to ride on your own; cantering out in the open; learning to jump; trying your hand at dressage; or aiming toward competing at your first event. You can feel confident your skills and riding will improve, all while having fun with your horse, in a friendly, relaxed environment.

Cost: Lessons from $90 on your own horse, or arrangements can be made to teach you on one of my beautiful natured school horses - $150 private or $110 pair sharing (level must be assessed before pairing riders together).
