I cannot recommend Christine enough. I had totally lost my jumping nerve, and was unsure if I wanted to try again. She has been so supportive of my journey back. Absolutely no pressure to do anything I’m not comfortable with.
I feel very safe and secure in her lessons and I am making great progress. Highly recommended.

Christine is a wonderful coach who is patient and encouraging at all times. She is understanding of your fears or time out of the saddle and gently encourages you.
Her lessons are great fun as well as challenging. She is amazing at instilling confidence in a rider who needs it. She works with you at your level of comfort whilst gently pushing you forwards. Her ability to explain technical aspects of riding is exceptional. She also teaches you to read your horse, and develop a better bond.
I highly recommend her to anybody recommencing their riding or wanting to improve their skills.

What can I say! Christine you are absolutely amazing. In just a few weeks you have totally transformed me and my horse.
For the first time in 30 years of riding I am now able to sit in my seat at canter and you helped me achieve this in only a couple of lessons. I am so excited about riding for the first time in years.
I cannot thank you enough I am really looking forward to competing with you supporting me.

Couldn’t recommend Christine enough, within the short time she has been coaching me I’ve seen an improvement in myself and my horses.
I definitely would not be riding/getting ready to go back into competition without her.
Christine has helped me not only through lessons but also the jumping clinic she holds. She is an amazing coach with no judgment and is extremely supportive with all my riding endeavours.

Had a great weekend at the intro jumping clinic with Christine - after having not jumped in close to 3 years I didn't know what to expect and so pleased with what we had achieved by the end of the weekend. Thanks Christine for pushing us through the iffy bits to get to the good stuff!
We made breakthroughs and had a lot of fun.

I am getting back into riding after more than 15 years and at the start could barely trot. Christine has been fabulous helping me get back into it and today I rode one horse and lead one on a trail ride! I felt 20 again.
Christine is patient, knowledgeable and knows just what you need to move forward. Recommended.

I could not recommend Christine enough, to say she is an amazing coach would have to be an understatement.
I haven’t been working with Christine for very long but the time we’ve had together so far has already had a major impact on my riding. Noble and I have come so far already, working on relaxing and stretching down, as well as working to become more submissive and together as a team. No matter what the situation Christine always gives me the confidence to keep going and overcome whatever I am faced, she’s helped to overcome many battles I’ve faced, that I otherwise couldn’t of done by myself.
Christine has given me so much confidence in my riding and I am always finding myself finishing a lesson with a smile! I couldn’t recommend or thank Christine enough for all she does! I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Noble and I, working with Christine by our side helping us achieve our goals!

Christine Armishaw’s Jumping Clinics are AMAZING, she provides great individual/group instruction for riders of all ability and ages, and really understands the way horse and rider connect.
My 13 year old daughter has attended two of her Clinics: Intro to Jumping 60cm, Intro to jumping 80cm. She is excited to go to more.
Her Clinics are very professional, supportive and totally confidence building. Sienna always leaves with new knowledge/technique and her jumping has improved immensely. High Recommended! Thank you Christine. Dawn Mitchell

Thank you Christine Armishaw Equestrian for running a successful and organised two day Jump Clinic hosted by Sonja at Wollondilly Horse Arena.
William enjoyed introducing his horse, George, to the introductory level of pole work and cross bars. Both rider and horse gained confidence and new skills from the clinic. Thank you Christine for the dedication and time you put aside to each student that attended your clinic.
Happy riders and happy horses. Jacqueline Fussell

Best coach I have ever had; without her, I would have for surely sold my current horse because I thought he needed someone more experienced to handle him, but thanks to Christine's wonderful coaching, he is now one of the best horses I have ever ridden.
When I first got him I could barely go over a small trotting pole without the risk of him bolting, but now that I have had this encouragement, I am doing rounds in the show jumping pen at Pony Club easily at 80cm.
Couldn't recommend her enough.

So highly recommend Christine!! Her ‘Intro to Jumping Clinics’ are just brilliant & something that’s been lacking in the area. Everyone rides away with big smiles on their faces knowing they’ve just kicked some personal goals. If you’re looking for a coach to help you with your confidence & skills, then look no further, Christine is passionate, knowledgeable, patient & kind!

"Christine has had a huge impact on my riding and the training and development of the three foals I bred last year. She is utterly professional while being kind encouraging and empathic. She was willing to come and teach me on my own horse and to handle my foals at home which meant that what they learned and I learned could be built upon with the facilities I had readily available.
Christine is an excellent horse woman able to improve horse and rider and to think outside the box to find solutions to any problems that arise. As a rider 'of a certain age' I appreciated her skill and knew that with every lesson both my horse and I learned something and stretched ourselves a little more than we thought we could. As the breeder of three very different foals I really valued her experience in handling young horses and her ability to adapt her training techniques to suit each of the very different types. Christine is an intelligent horsewoman who has a deep passion for her craft and can put together all the elements - groundwork, handling, riding, rider confidence and skill in a way that is easily learned by both horse and handler. I really appreciate the patience and care she has brought to all aspects of her work with me and my horses."

"My teenage approach to riding was fearless, jump on and go for it ...but I really had no knowledge of how to ride! Now returning to riding many years later I wanted to rebuild confidence, gain a better understanding of how to read my horse and communicate effectively with him.
Christine was the first trainer I found locally that would come to you which worked best for me as I had no float to travel. She has provided weekly lessons for 15 months and I have found her instruction to be informative, motivating and practical. Her encouragement and teaching style has given me the confidence to give things a go that I would not have previously considered including partaking in a local dressage competition and learning to jump.
Her approachable manner and willingness to help both rider and horse is a credit to her and an asset to those she teaches." Janis McIlwain & 'Mac'

"I'm very glad I found Christine, she's exactly what I wanted in a new instructor. Christine is motivating, kind and genuine. I say no a lot, and I found that Christine has helped me out by pushing me that little bit out of my comfort zone because she knows I can do it. Christine is knowledgeable and answers all my questions with no judgment. She is great with my horses and we will all really miss her! "

"Christine has been a huge help to me after returning to riding after 20 years & two kids. I've been seeing her for regular lessons for about 12 months, and am now starting to do a little competing again. She is very competent at building your confidence whilst pushing you that tiny bit out of your comfort zone each time to start getting results. Wishing you all the best in Australia Christine!"
Rachael McClung
"Thanks Christine for pushing me out of my comfort zone. We do have moments of nice riding- photographic evidence!"

"I am 25yrs, And just learning to ride. This is very hard in itself. I am not 9 anymore with no fear!!
I have been getting lessons from Christine for around 6 weeks, She has had to teach me from putting the saddle on, to sitting and stretching (in doing which I might add, I have found muscles that I didn’t even know I had). Christine has been very understanding, patient with my fears; very easy to talk to. I recommend her to anyone that needs help. If I can do it, you can too."
Angela Mitchell & 'Frosty'
"Christine is a great instructor, who helped me develop a better awareness of myself and my horse. I am amazed that working on one specific issue how much myself and my horse improved in other areas!!
She has seemingly unlimited patience and an exceptional way of teaching which is fun and productive. I would strongly recommend her to anyone looking to improve their riding and their relationship with their horse."
Autumn Hunger & 'Aintree'
"After 2 years of not riding, I was nervous to start again on a new horse after previously having my confidence shaken. Christine has taken it one step at a time & is continually supportive.
Since starting my weekly lessons with Christine, I am excited about the improvements I am making in my riding. I am learning so much and the bond I’ve been building with my horse is due to the confidence I’ve gained since learning to get the basics right."
Ali Aikin & 'Monty'
"After being lucky enough to have been lent the most wonderful schoolmaster one could ever dream of, I decided to make the most of it and take riding lessons. I really needed a teacher who was willing to start from the absolute beginning - without making me feel like I was wasting their time because I really am an absolute beginner!
Someone with patience, knowledge, communication skills and above all, a sense of humour. (This mid life crisis thing can be a real pain).
Christine is a wonderful teacher and with her help and skilled assistance I am positive my dream of riding with confidence will eventuate sooner rather than later."
Mary Russell & 'Mick'
“After riding throughout my childhood in England, I'd had quite a few years off before I picked it up again in New Zealand. Older, more cautious and the finer points a distant memory, I knew I needed some help. That's where Christine came in.
I felt really comfortable with her from the start, friendly yet professional with a practical, solution based approach. Each lesson had a clear focus yet never became tedious and Christine always managed to incorporate fun stuff for both me and my horse. It amazed me how working on one small part of my riding greatly improved how the horse went and responded. Every lesson produced tangible results and gave me clear areas to work on in between.
I look forward to the lessons and feel I have made a lot of progress. I now really appreciate the huge gains to be made for horse and rider and particularly the horse and rider partnership! that regular lessons with an experienced teacher can bring.”
Claire Jacob & ‘Tigger’
“Before getting lessons I had self taught myself everything that I knew and had hit a brick wall with what to do next. Christine helped me from scratch fixing all the little bits and pieces that needed fixing with my riding and helping me to learn a whole lot more about my riding and my horses.
It is amazing what I have learnt with the lessons, things such as how the horse responds to each tiny wee thing that you do as a rider and how changing such a tiny wee thing can make such a huge difference.
I love having my lessons and look forward to them each time, me and my horses now understand each other so much more and seem to be more of a team. Each lesson that I have had I have gone away smiling knowing that I have learnt so much more each time.
I would highly recommend Christine as she is an experienced instructor who will work with you and your horse and help you to better understand your horse and how they work best :)”

"I am originally from Germany and started riding when I was about 6 years old. I’ve been living in NZ for 2 ½ years now and finally have been able to fulfil my childhood dream of owning my own horse! Even though I hadn’t been riding regularly for the past 10 years or so, I felt quite confident. When I saw Noisy, it was “love at first sight”! So I didn’t hesitate and bought him in December 2009 being unaware of how many issues this poor ex race horse had.
When I got on him for the first time, it was a nightmare. He walked backwards, sideways, threw his head up and finally hit me in the face. That was a wake up call! Noisy has a lovely nature and loves his cuddles but he surely had some bad habits I needed to get rid off.
My mom’s boss gave me Christine’s phone number and I called her straight away. We arranged our first lesson and started working. Saddle and bridle were checked, his diet was changed and Noisy even had a couple of massages to fix his tense muscles. Between the weekly lessons I’ve worked and trained a lot with my new friend and the progress we made was incredible.
Now, after only 2 months of training with Christine Noisy is a different horse. He is happy, not sore anymore, trusts me and respects me. I am finally riding him now and all I can say is “THANK YOU” Christine!
So if you’re thinking about giving up – Don’t! Call Christine instead and give it a try! It’s well worth it!"
Dorina Bochow & ‘Noisy'
“Two years ago I brought my Standardbred gelding Mac looking for a new challenge. That is exactly what I got with Mac!
After many months of frustration & wondering if Mac & I were compatible, I got on the net & found Christine's fantastic website. Ididn't hesitate to call her & arrange my first lesson.
I can't recommend Christine highly enough, her patience, understanding & knowledge is amazing. Our lessons change & evolve around any issues that come up. I feel free to ask any questions about Mac, his behaviour & his feed & supplements.
With her help Mac & I have gone from complete chaos to a partnership based on trust. Plus we have learnt to have fun while we are learning!”
Angela Turkilsen & ‘Mac’
"I started taking riding lessons from Christine after a nasty riding accident in hope of regaining my confidence.
She has been a dedicated and understanding instructor and motivated Joe & I to get to our former glory.
6 months down the track, I still look forward to the weekly lessons & I couldn't be more grateful."
Dominique Bradley & ‘Joe’
"I wish to recommend Christine Armishaw as a horse riding instructor.
I am a long time horse rider and owner. Several years ago I purchased a horse that had many issues. Riding this horse made me lose much of my confidence through his unpredictable behaviour.
I bought another horse in 2008 that appeared quiet and suitable for my needs. I saw Christine’s advertisement in the local paper and rung her. She sounded professional and confident so we made an appointment for my first lesson.
On the first day I asked her to check my saddle fitting and after some small but important adjustments, we started on the ride. I asked to be on the lunge for this first lesson as I was too scared to be riding without her holding the horse. We did plenty of exercised while mounted to loosen me up and get me relaxed. Christine listened to my needs, asking from me only what she thought I was capable of doing. The lesson ended with me feeling extremely pleased with the progress. This has not stopped. With the following lessons, I grew more confident and was able to ask more of my horse and of myself each week. Just three months after the first lesson, having instruction from Christine once a week, we are now working on things I could not have imagined doing 12 weeks earlier. I can feel my old riding coming back to me, and loving it. In each lesson, Christine would build on what had been done the previous week and would improvise when needed.
It is only due to moving to Dunedin that I will no longer be having lessons with Christine.
She is a confident instructor with a lot of information to give. Christine has been able to think on her feet and has worked with me to achieve the best result. I highly recommend this woman to any equestrian person, be it a beginner or an experienced person wishing to improve their skills, or like me, gain their confidence back."
Jo Griffiths & 'Yarraman'
“Christine has taught me so much. I had been riding a bit but never been taught the right way. I can now use my legs to control my pony.
Toby my horse has responded well to Christine’s teaching, as she is good and has a natural way with us both.
Thank you so much you are wonderful.”
Abbey Baker & 'Toby'
“Hi my name is Emma, I’m 12 years of age. My horse is 17 years old and her name is Bubbles.
I was bucked off my horse early July last year and lost confidence in riding her.
Christine was suggested through a friend of my mothers. Christine rode Bubbles for the first three lessons. Now she is fine and I started riding Bubbles from the fourth lesson. I felt I've gained confidence since Christine has been teaching me and I can now gauge and correct Bubbles now I have the techniques. I thank Christine for all of her help and recommend her to anyone."
Emma Logan & 'Bubbles'
"I've only had a few lessons, but so far I've been finding them really helpful. They are definitely helping me regain my confidence and they are also helping me and Lucy understand each other better, not to mention fixing our faults :) I didn't realise that the slightest thing can really affect horses, I've learnt heaps already :)"
